Raymond C. Brewer
Following a brief illness Ray passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 19, 2013.
He was born in Geneva, Ohio, on December 25, 1940. He graduated from the class of 1959 from Geneva High School and he served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1965 then was in the active reserve until 1967.
He was employed at the A & P Supermarket in Geneva while still in high school. After honorable discharge, he was transferred to the Saybrook A & P store. He later worked at Bowdler's Super Duper in Jefferson and from there he retired from Geneva Giant Eagle in 2001.
Ray and his wife had enjoyed many golf weekend get-a-ways and trips to Florida. He also enjoyed his retirement, spending time with his family, friends and playing cards.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Shirley (Misener) Brewer, their sons, James of Madison, Forest L. (Shari) of Columbus and granddaughter Heather of Geneva, along with several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents Harold Raymond, Mary Elizabeth Brewer, and his sister Jackie Reidl.
As per his request, there will be no calling hours. A private family service will be held.
