Ray E. Murphy

Ray E. Murphy, age 93 resident of Painesville, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at home in Painesville. Ray was born on February 7, 1918 in Clay, WV, to Ida (Graham) and French Murphy. He married Jewell Parker on July 29, 1940 in Greenup Kentucky. Ray retired as a custodian at Madison Avenue Elementary School in Painesville. He was a loving husband and father who was passionate about his family. He is survived by his wife, of 71 years, Jewell Murphy of Painesville; Son, Gary R. (Donna) Murphy of Tuscan, AZ; Daughter, Reva Taylor of Painesville; Son, Audie Dean (Suzette) Murphy of Painesville; Daughter, Suzanne Cantrell of Painesville; 10 Grandchildren, Tammy Smith, Shawn R. Taylor, Amy Shreves, Michael R. and Christopher R. Murphy, Megan, Mollie and Cameron Cantrell, Audie Russell and Audie Stanley Murphy; 6 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Becky Summers and Edith Booth; 2 Brothers, Delbert and Dallas Murphy; He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Eva Jewell Murphy, son-in-law, Cameron Cantrell and several brothers and sisters. Friends will be received from 2-4:00 pm and 6-8:00 pm Thursday August 11, 2011 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio 44057. Funeral Service will be on Friday August 12, 2011 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Final Resting Place will be at Perry Cemetery.
