Ralph D. Hanneman, age 84 of Ashtabula, passed away August 17, 2020 at home. He was born April 5, 1936 to Clarence and Marietta (Sibbrel) Hanneman in Austinburg. Ralph was a strong man of faith who served the Lord throughout his life. He was a veteran of the US Army. He married Aileen Harmon on July 6, 1958 at Plymouth UMC with whom he raised 4 children until the time of her death in 1994. On October 19, 1996 he married Hazel Hayes at Lake Avenue UMC. They enjoyed time together following NASCAR and traveling. His professional career spanned decades managing the Austinburg Co-Op before becoming a financial consultant for AG Edwards & Sons (Ashtabula) until retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life and after retirement pursued other passions, including woodworking (making many beautiful pieces for family & friends) and boating. He helped multiple organizations over many years including, the Ohio Grain Feed and Fertilizer Association (chairperson), People to People International, the Sam Wharram Nature Club (treasurer), Cross County Shoreliners (founding member, treasurer and bass), and was a faithful member of the Geneva Church of Christ. Ralph is survived by his wife, Hazel (née Svenson); children, Julie Hanneman, Marc (Kendra) Hanneman, Daniel Hanneman; grandchildren, Kayla (Daniel) McConnell, David (Samantha) Hanneman; step-children, Anna (Greg) Naumann, Roger (Elizabeth) Hayes, Robin (Mike) Kelley, Jill (D.J.) Kallhof, Dean (Rhonda) Hayes, David (Linda) Hayes; and sisters, Evelyn Eisenmann, Mabel (Bill) Porter. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Aileen (née Harmon); son, Philip Hanneman; his parents; brothers, Glen and George Hanneman; and sister, Mary Ellen. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in Ralph’s name, to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, PO BOX 72101, Cleveland, OH 44197-9935. Friends will be received 11:00am - 12:00pm Tuesday, August, 25, 2020 at Saybrook Cemetery on Route 45 in Saybrook Township. A graveside service will follow at 12:00pm officiated by Pastor Julie Hanneman and Elder Paul Brunsman.
