I met Pete about 20 years ago at Cedar Point, and he was one of the most fun people to hang out with there. Last saw him in April for the new ride opening. The midways won't be the same without him. (Photo is from opening day, 2007.)
I first met Pete nearly 25 years ago through our shared love of Cedar Point. Always had a smile on his face whenever we'd run into each other. He'll be missed.
Pete was the kindest brother in laws.. He will be missed by many. My love and prayers to Colleen, and to all his family and friends.
Pete was my best friend for almost 40 years…we had alot of fun skiing in the winter, and taking his boat to Put-In-Bay in the summer. We spent countless weekends partying in the Flats or other nightspots around town…I'm REALLY going to miss you Pete. Bill Caldwell
Pete and I shared some good times together as part of the “Roller Coaster Buddies” team at Cedarpoint. We would see who could get the most rides on Magnum in an hour then devour foot long dogs while perusing the midway. It was actually his idea to put the word “buzz” in my website (coasterbuzz) after one too many drinks at the Marina one night in the mid 90s. Good dude, great attitude. May he Rest In Peace with Disaster Transport, Wildcat and Mamoosh!
I hired Pete at CWRU in 1987 and know stories through the years too numerous to tell, but always knew Pete as a person who lived every hour of life more fully than anyone I've ever personally known. I am stunned at his passing and will forever miss him.
I didn't know Pete for very long but absolutely loved this man, he made my sister of the heart Colleen happy and put love back into her life, I will never forget they invited Joe and I to go to Put in Bay with them, ended up we got kidnapped on an over night visit (long story), but it was my very first real boat ride, and we had such a good time! Pete you will be forever loved and missed! Joe said to Rock on forever Bud!
First met Pete when we were students at Cleveland State and members of the ski club. Lots of great memories and adventures. My entire family knew Pete and enjoyed his sense of humor, honesty and sincerity. Pete was always willing to go just about anywhere, especially if it included friends, beer, boats, bars, roller coasters, long Island Ice Tea and skiing. Rest in peace my good friend.
This is a fraudulent post, and not Jeff Putz.
Pete and Jeff were a cute couple back in the day. Our group of friends used to call them “Gemini” a reference to the dual wooden roller coaster at Cedar Point. They shared a strong love and bond for Cedar Point, computer programming, broadway musicals and vacations with Mamoosh. Rest in Peace Peter. Jeff…..I pray that you find solace with the passing of your companion.
So hard to find the right words. Pete has just always been there with that big smile on his face and bear hug of a greeting. No matter what was happening he always knew how to brighten the day. Spent so many good times together. Some planned, some not so much. PIB, RHB, CP, boat shows, St Pattys Day, Holiday Valley and more. Love you Pete. Forever Friends, Kimmie Plato
We met pete at cedar point, he seemed like a very nice guy, hung out with him at bubbles swim up bar, gonna miss not seeing him there, had a lot of fun there, RIP pete rideon!!
I'll forever miss the love of my life……my Sweetie Petey.
I remember the first threesome Jeff, Pete and I had. It was smooth, long and exciting….as if we were riding Millennium Force.
Just heard Pete passed away. I knew Pete for 20+ years. He was a really person. My condolences to his remaining family. Dr Jeff RIchman
