Heath, Ohio- Patsy J. Wood, 83, of Heath, Ohio and formerly of Madison, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on August 22, 2016. Patsy was born May 16, 1933 in Euclid, Ohio the daughter of the late Earl and Elsie (Millard) Atkin. She graduated from Madison High School Class of 1951. She married the love of her life Harold Wood in Madison on January 21, 1954. Mrs. Wood was a librarian at North Madison Elementary School for many years. When her children were young, she was active in their school events and served as President of the PTA as well as Past President of the United Methodist Women Organization. More recently, Patsy was a Member of Heath United Methodist Church and was very active in the Dare to Care Program. Pasty is survived by her loving husband of 62 Years, Harold; son, Mark (Sheri) Wood; daughters, Linda (Rick) Gottfried, Laura (Kim) Kocher, and Virginia (Rik) Jarvis; grandchildren, Bethany (Ryan) Fausch, Jamie, Tommy, and Danny Jarvis, Jennifer Silvert, and Bryant and Kyle Wood, Stacey (Mark) Barrett, Chase (Laura) Kocher; great-grandchildren Ryan and Kylee Barrett, and Mila Clark; brother, Paul "Bob" (Carole) Atkin; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Maxine Boonstra, Mildred Kotz, and Evelyn Gulzeth; brothers, William Atkin, Richard "Dick" Atkin, and Jack Ely; and her parents. A Celebration of Patsy's Life will be held Saturday August 27, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. Final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery in Madison, Ohio.
