Pamela D'Angelo

Pamela Raye D'Angelo age 67 of Geneva, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, at home. She was born August 16, 1945 in Columbus Ohio, to Helen Louise (Holton) and Moses Raymond Purdy. She worked as a dependency counselor at Glenbeigh Hospital for twenty six years where she touched and saved countless lives struggling with alcohol and drug addictions. Pamela was a 1963 graduate of Parma High School. She attended The Ohio State University, Hiram College, and Kent State University. She was a loving mother of three and proud grandmother of five. She was devoted to her family and an inspiration to those who knew her. Her door was always open to anyone seeking help or advice with whatever they may be struggling with. She was an active member of AA since 1979. She was an avid reader and loved to sing and dance and antique collecting. She had a passion for the water and sailing and dreamed of sailing around the world and one day to visit Ireland. She is survived by her son, Roy Galaday of Manhattan New York; daughters Raye Helen (Peter) Groening of Austinburg; Susan Marie (Robert) Selman of Saybrook; grandchildren, Spencer Selman, Aidan Groening, Caleb Selman, Gabriella Selman, and Allyson Groening; her sisters, Lynn Saris and Doris Sumerfield; nieces and nephews, John (Debbie) Saris, Laurel (Michael) Adornetto, Gail (Howard) Johnson, Scott Sumerfield, and Bruce Sumerfield. She was preceded in death by her parents Moses and Helen Purdy; her sister Maryann Knobb and brother Raymond Purdy. Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway in Geneva, Ohio. A funeral service to celebrate Pamela's life will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the funeral home.
