Nina Jeannine (Kazicka) Wickert, age 85, of Madison, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014. She was born September 6, 1929 in Paris, France. Nina was a member of Madison Crossroads Community Church on Middle Ridge Road. She was a past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of Madison American Legion Post 112. Nina was also a member of the Madison Garden Club, Lakeside Garden Club and Friends of Arcola Creek Inc. Nina worked at the Madison County Club, N.E.O. Hospital, Lake East Hospital and Lake West Hospital before retiring in 1994. Nina was married to Raymond Wickert for 60 years and shared his joy in growing roses. Ray was a certified rosarian judge and they traveled throughout the United States judging rose shows, which included a judging trip to Europe in 1987. Nina's warm smile, loving heart and gentle touch will be greatly missed. She is survived by her sons, Donald (Nancy) of Madison, James (Peggy) of Madison, Chris of Geneva-on-the-Lake; brother, Gerald Schweighart of Paris, France; brother-in-law, Robert (Barb) Wickert; sisters-in-law, Joan (Richard) Darrow of Houston and Margaret (Shane) Wickert of Madison; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H.; parents, Jean Kazicka and Juliene Schweighart; daughter-in-law, Judie (Prahst) Wickert; brothers-in-law, Donald, Forrest "Pudge" and William Reese; sister-in-law, Marilyn Reese. A special heartfelt thank you to Marvin Bruno, Alice Ramsey and the staff at Hubbard Road Meadows for everything they've done caring for Nina the last four years. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 PM, Thursday, October 2, 2014, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057.
