Nathan C. Wheeler, 77, of Perry passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 2, 2017. He was born December 18, 1939, in Minford, Ohio, the son of the late Daniel and Madge (Ross) Wheeler. Nathan married the love of his life Joann Sears. Mr. Wheeler spent most of his working career at Kennametal in the maintenance department. He enjoyed going to sales and buying and selling tractors. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Linda (Jeffrey) Durham, Gary (Angel) Wheeler, Larry (Melissa) Wheeler, and Teresa (Kurt) Czika; brother, Clarence Wheeler; grandchildren, Steve Durham, Christopher (Ashley) Durham, Ryan (Katie) Wheeler, Corey Wheeler, Lindsay and Nicole Wheeler, Kaitlin Ortiz, Eric (Melissa) Wheeler, Craig (Hillary Morse) Layman, and Brianna and Hope Yates; and great grandchildren, Landon, Cole, Maddox, and Kaiden. Nathan was preceded in death by his wife Joann; daughter, Kathy Wheeler; his parents; his step-mother, Berthea; siblings, Emajean, Louise, Lorraine, Norman, Edgel, and Raymond; and step-brothers, Kermit and Rodney Phillips. A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Perry Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 6-8 PM at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio 44057. Friends may leave condolences online at www.behmfuneral.com

  2. PopPa Nate will forever leave lasting memories and a love that can never be erased. Over the many years he became the influence of a second dad to me. As much time as I spent growing up with Teresa at the house PopPa Nate could have claimed me on his taxes! I will miss hearing him call me Little One and tell me to come over so he can beat my butt followed by a come here I want a kiss! He is for sure one the God broke the mold when he created this one in a million. Chuck you are my Best Friend and I know the hurt and empty feeling I am always here for you. My thoughts and Prayers to all my extended family.PopPa Nate you and Mama Joann I enjoy your welcome home party till we all meet again. I will love and miss you but you are and will always be with me.
