Nancy Ruck, age 96 of Madison, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born September 24, 1929 in Painesville, the daughter of George and Martha (Gebeau) Evans.

A graduate of Painesville Harvey High School, Nancy worked as an Administrative Assistant for Auburn Carrier Center and SOHIO. A wonderful baker, Nancy was known for her iconic Gingerbread Men.

She is survived by her children, Daniel (Gail) Ivan, David Ivan, and Jenny (Bill Showman) Ivan; grandchildren, Jessie, Abbegale, and Rose; great grandchildren, Rylee and Onyx. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Ivan; second husband, Stanley Ruck; her parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

  7. Nancy was a loving Aunt to 25 nieces and nephews. She was interested in our lives, kept track of us, and supported us. She also was a caring little sister to her nine older siblings. We are thankful for that. We will love her forever.

  8. Nancy was a wonderful person. Made the flakiest pie crust I ever tasted. Superb at everything she did. I sure loved her as we all did. Sorry for all of us that she’s with us no longer. She loved her entire family and all of her friends. I would love to be like her.

  9. As the oldest of the 25 nieces and nephews, I had the benefit of Aunt Nancy’s caring attention for the longest time; but right now it doesn’t seem long enough. She made each of us feel special and we will miss her very much. To Dan, Dave, and Jenny, we love you and are grieving with you. We will think of your family often, especially when enjoying Cowboy Cookies.
