December 20, 2011

Nancy Burnett Advey went to be with our Lord on Tuesday December 20, 2011. She was comforted and cared for until the end by her niece, Nancy Branem. She was born on the Halle farm in Kirtland, Ohio to John and Hazel Burnett. Her sisters and brother were Lois Leggat, John Burnett, Judy Rummel, & Joan Adams. She suffered from cancer for a brief time, but was mercifully taken to be with her Lord and Savior without prolonged pain & suffering. She lived 81 years in her unique and beautiful style. She was always able to make her friends and family laugh. We will miss her traditional telling of a joke at the annual Christmas party this year, and as we think of her, we will smile. She had a big heart and loved her animals, from the pony she rode as a child, to the shelter dogs and cats she generously supported, to the squirrels and songbirds in her back yard. She was a member of the Madison Country Club for many years where she loved to golf with her husband Jim Advey. She was also a woman of strong faith and a member of Madison s Bible Baptist Church. She will be sorely missed by her only surviving sibling Sara Johnson, who now resides in The Woodlands, Texas. Survivors include many nieces and nephews, including Nancy Branem with whom she was residing. There will be a private graveside service for family and close friends at 10 AM Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville. Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, December 23, 2011 at Bible Baptist Church, 3819 West Chapel Road, Madison, Ohio. Her nephew, Pastor James Burnett will be officiating. In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions in her memory can be made to the Lake County Humane Society, 7564 Tyler Blvd, Building E, Mentor, OH 44060. Arrangements are being handled by The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, OHIO 44057.
