Former Mentor resident and current Geneva resident Milton R.Young, 85, died May 25, 2011, at his home in Geneva, Ohio. Mr. Young was born April 3, 1926, in Mentor, Ohio to Gail (Stanley) and Fred Young. Milt married Carol S. Goss on February 3, 1951 in Lakewood, Ohio and spent the next 55 years happily married. Milt enjoyed camping, travelling, flying small planes, spending time with his family, and making others laugh. Mr. Young graduated from Mentor High School in 1944, and attended Bowling Green University. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. Milt worked many years as a heavy equipment operator. He also spent some time working on the Alaska-Canada Highway, where he later spent many days with his wife, leading their ?Alaska Adventure? caravans. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Carolyn (William) Biggs of Columbia, SC and Elizabeth (Otto) Stoltz of Harpersfield, OH. He has 7 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol, his parents, Gail and Fred Young, his 2 brothers Jack and Douglas Young and his sister, Mollie Miller. At his request, no funeral will be held. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 31 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Harpersfield Community Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve or Northwest Ambulance District. Arrangements are being handled by the Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 175 S.
