Michael Leslie Spence, age 57, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023, after his strong and brave battle with leukemia. He was born on June 13, 1965, in Belfast, Ireland to Malcolm and Isabella Spence. He came to Ohio when he was two years old. Mike graduated in 1983 from Madison High School. Soon after, he joined the U.S. Navy. He fought on the Battleship Missouri during the Persian Gulf War. After his journey in the Navy, he began his new journey as a chef. Chef Mike started at the Madison Country Club where he met his loving wife, Ann Spence. He then continued his career to The Unionville Tavern. Chef Mike finished his successful career at Dino’s Catering in Wickliffe, Ohio. Mike was a talented photographer. Ann and Mike loved going on hikes together with their dog Myla, watching the Guardians and enjoying movie and pizza nights. He was a wonderful husband, brother, son, uncle, friend and co-worker, respected and loved by many. He is survived by his wife, Ann Spence; his father Malcolm Spence; his sisters Christine and Diane; his nephew Dylan Miller; and his niece Anna Miller. Chef Mike now rests in peace with his mother Isabella Spence and his doggo Casey. Private family services will be observed. Behm Family Funeral Home of Madison is assisting the family at this time.
