Michael McElroy

Jack Michael “Mike” McElroy, passed away September 2, 2024 at the David Simpson Hospice House after a 7 year battle with COPD. Mike, born in Canton, OH, is the son of Jack “Mac” and Charlotte (Hayne) McElroy. He was a 1959 graduate of Canton McKinley High School and a 1967 graduate of Ohio University. Mike had a 40-year career in the Food Service Industry representing not only brokers but also manufacturers such as Rich Products, Valley Fresh and Southern Hens.

Mike married Carole Banik on June 10, 1967 in Lorain, OH. They lived in Chardon Township for 35 years before moving to Madison Township in 2019. Their children, Paul Michael McElroy and Juliana Michelle (Julie) McElroy-Schulz (Stephen Schulz) blessed them with three awesome grandsons: Peter Michael and Grady Alan Schulz and Logan Michael McElroy. Mike was so proud of his fantastic grandsons.

Preceding Mike in death are his parents; grandparents; parents-in-law; and aunts Kate, Jo Ann and Paula. He is survived by his wife, children, son-in-law, grandsons and cousins, Eric and Scott Haldi and Linda and Marcia Alders.
