July 3, 1957 ~ December 6, 2017

Michael James Melia age 60 of Madison Ohio passed away unexpectedly Wednesday December 6, 2017 at Lake West Hospital. Born July 3, 1957 in Cincinnati Ohio made him a devoted Bengal fan from day one. Mikes competitive side was brought out with a baseball scholarship to the college of Wooster. Along with baseball Mike was also an avid golfer. In 1983 he met and fell in love with Ms. Jeanne Lind. Wedding bells would soon come, but one thing was clear; Golf was his baby and Jeanne had hers. Mike would then become an amazing Dad to two wonderful children. He loved spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren; Family was always his number one priority. He retired from the Perry Nuclear Power Plant after over 30 years of service. Not only was he smart, athletic, handsome and a family man, but also had the biggest heart with an outrageous sense of humor. Always full of jokes, wit and the absolute funniest innuendos, Mike was a man that once you met you could never forget. One of a kind…. Mike is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jeanne; children, Amy (Jim) Witt, Michael (Nicole) Carbonara; grandchildren, Alex Witt, Patrick Witt, Ryan Clark, Katlyn Carbonara, Kiley Carbonara, Vivian Carbonara; sisters, Karen (Pat) OCallaghan, Susan Erkkila; brother, Patrick (Alane) Melia. He is predeceased by his parents, William and Frances Melia; brothers, Tim Melia, Tom Melia; granddaughter, Brynlee Carbonara. Mass will be held at St. Cyprian Church in Perry Ohio. Wednesday December 13, 2017 at 11 am, Condolences and greetings will be held one hour prior to the service.
