Michael Gural

Michael Gural, age, 85, passed away at Tri-Point Medical Center, Tuesday, October 12, 2010, after battling a long illness. By his bedside were several family members. Michael was born in Altoona, PA on February 4, 1925, to Rosalia (Brizetski) & Hnat Gural. Michael served in the US Army during World War II. He landed in Normandy the second day of the invasion, June 7, 1944. After the war, Michael earned a teaching degree and taught history for a short time. He worked at General Electric in Cleveland for over 25 years until retiring. Michael enjoyed trips to the casino, horse racing, traveling with his family as well as playing cards. He also enjoyed golf when he was a younger man. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Madison, Ohio
He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia (Gordon) Ziegler; granddaughters, Valerie (Robert) Mican, Crystal (Robert) Austin, Cassandra Ziegler & Julie Nash; 11 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Olga Lawruk; 8 nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Sophie; sisters, Mary Zapotoczny, Ann Nason; brothers, Charles & Joseph Gural.
Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday, October 15, 2010, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Rd., Madison, Ohio.
Final Resting Place will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
