Michael Allyn Nash

Michael Allyn Nash, 83, passed away in his Willoughby Hills home on March 24th. He is survived by his sister, Sharon Rogant, sister-in-law Kathy (Wilcox) Dixon, step sister Judy Rusnak, nephews David Rogant (Laura) and David Stang (Joy), niece Betsy Wisneski (Dan), great nieces Taylor Rice (Arthur) and Hope Brooker (Bill), great nephew Jacob Stang (Erika Frank) and grand nephew Jimmy Rogant. His wife, Jane, preceded him in death in 2011. Mike was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in journalism and received an MS. Ed from Kent State University. He taught English in the Willoughby Eastlake Schools before becoming a reading specialist at Shaker Heights High School, retiring in 1996.

Mike was a loyal supporter of his beloved Tennessee Vols, a decades long season ticket holder for the Browns and an enduring Indians supporter. He maintained a lifelong interest in history and was a rabid reader. He also loved gardening and enjoyed the wildlife around his home, particularly the birds that flocked to his feeders. His kindness extended to all who needed help. Mike was the first to show up in times of trouble and the last to leave. Everyone who knew Uncle Mike was better for knowing him.

According to his wishes there will be no services.
