Meryl Ann Pfleger, age 85, of Madison passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Lake West Hospital. She was born November 14, 1938 in Plainfield, NJ the daughter of Herbert and Marion (Trefethen) Keating.
Meryl Ann was an artist, graduating from Syracuse University with a fine arts degree. She loved all forms of art including pen and ink, painting, poetry, sculpting, and making stained glass. For many years she worked at the Red Apple Frame Station in Madison sharing her talents. She also enjoyed league bowling with friends and family.
Meryl Ann had a gentle soul that shown through to everyone she met. She was the pillar of strength and love for Robin always available for daily Yahtzee games, advice, and a good cup of coffee. She treasured her years of scorekeeping Garrison's baseball games and attending all of his sporting events. She was a dedicated Indians fan enjoying attending and watching their games.
Meryl Ann was inspired by nature and enjoyed the awe and splendor of the seasons, birds, wildlife, and weather. She was a lifelong avid reader, loving a good thriller as well as historical and informative writings. Meryl Ann also belonged to book clubs, sharing her love of reading. She never stopped learning.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Harting; grandchildren, Garrison (Monica) Varketta, Solomon (Gabriella) Price, Katherine (Jacob) Smith; great grandson, River Varketta; sister, Carol (Jules) Chan; nieces and nephews, Ellery Chan, Melanie Tobias and Alistair Chan. She was preceded in death by her son, Keat Pfleger; and her partner whom she spent many years with, Fred Inman.
Friends will be received Saturday, June 8th from 1-3 pm and from 5-7 pm at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday June 9th at the funeral home. Online obituary and condolences may be viewed at www.behmfuneral.com
