Melanie Ann Chapuis

Melanie Ann Chapuis, 46, of Painesville Township, passed away Dec. 7, 2011, in Painesville. She was born Feb. 2, 1965, in Painesville to Joan K. (Upper) and Melvin Chapuis. Melanie was a 1983 graduate of Riverside High School. She was an avid steelhead fisherman. She owned Miscellaneous Melanie's Home Repair and worked as a security guard at Morton Salt. Melanie volunteered at the YMCA Outdoor Family Center, leading nature walks with children and assisting with the Y's daily maintenance repairs. Survivors are her partner of 12 years, Dana Tharp of Painesville; parents, Joan and Melvin Chapuis of Painesville; sister, Susan (Chuck) Atwell of Painesville; aunts, Nancy Namestnik of Mentor and Charlene Bledsoe of Mentor; and 10 nieces and nephews. Friends will be received: from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., in Madison. Memorial services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family.
