Maznik Gary

Gary R. Maznik, age 68, of Roaming Shores, died Friday, March 23, 2018. He was born February 7, 1950 in Cleveland; graduated from Eastlake North High School in 1968 and married Katherine Strube on February 28, 1970 in Willowick, OH. He is a decorated Vietnam Veteran that served in the US Army. Gary worked for many years as a professional hairdresser and salon owner, and also was an innovator and inventor of patented hair products. He enjoyed fishing, vacationing and woodworking. Gary is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy; daughter Kimberly (Stephan) Hoover; son Mark (Nicolle Jeric); grandchildren, Katharine and Megan Hoover and Bailey Bowers; his mother-in-law, LaVerne Strube; brothers-in-law, John Strube (Teena) and Richard Stamp; sisters-in-law, Nancy Strube and Pat Maznik; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Helen Maznik; siblings Stephen Maznik, Bonnie Bahry; father-in-law, John Strube; brother-in-law, Bill Strube; and sister-in-law, Lorrelle Stamp. Gary also leaves behind his beloved companion cat, Oreo. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Union Cemetery, Rock Creek, OH, where military honors will be presented. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, (AFSP), 120 Wall Street, 29th Floor, New York, NY 10005 or Disabled American Veterans (dav.org), PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301. The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St. Madison is assisting his family.
