Mattie M. Poe

Mattie M. Poe, age 91, of Geneva passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at Geneva Village Retirement. She was born November 1, 1922 in Grafton, WV to Ada (Freese) & John Edward Dowden. She was a lifetime member of the VFW #943 Ladies Auxiliary. Mattie is survived by her son, George (Donna) Poe of Geneva; grandsons, Woodrow Utter of Tucson, AZ, Scott (Lisa Duff) Utter; great-grandchildren, Clay, Kaylee and Christian; nephew, Terry (Mary) Gabbert and family of Grafton, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George Dowden, David Dowden and sister, Natalie Gabbert. No visitation or services will be observed. Final resting place will be Bluemont Cemetery in Grafton, WV. The family would like to give a special thanks to Geneva Village Retirement for almost 3 years of wonderful care, and Harbor Light Hospice for 1 year of loving care.
