Matthew A. German

Matthew A. German, age 50, of Harpersfield, passed at UH Memorial Hospital of Geneva on November 3, 2013. He was born on March 13, 1963 in Garfield Heights, the son of Martin A. German, Sr., and Patricia Ann (Harrison). He married Trudy Gruber on October 22, 2010. Matthew attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Geneva. He was a loving husband, he enjoyed nights out dancing with his wife Trudy. Matt was a proud Grandpa and always enjoyed the time he spent with his family. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Matt was a talented hardworking man who enjoyed working with heavy equipment around the family farm in Harpersfield. He is survived by his wife, Trudy of Harpersfield; son, Tony German of Solon; daughter Kristina German of Ravenna; step-daughter, Katie Maroni of Solon; step-sons, Shawn (Angie) Gruber of Austinburg, Jody (Michelle) Gruber of Geneva; grandchildren, Brenton, Kylee, Kendra, Adam, Emily, Ben, Katlyn; mother, Pat German of Ft. Myers Beach, FL, grandmother, Helen German of Garfield Heights; brothers, Martin "Skip" (Michelle) German, Jr. of Spencer, MA, Michael J. (Gia) German, Sr. of Barre, MA; sister, Monica German of Garfield Heights; and his loyal 4-legged friend Diesel. He was preceded in death by his father and grandfather. Friends will be received 5-8 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2013 at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, OH 44041. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, November 8th at the funeral home. Matt's brother-in-law, Pastor Jonathan C. Schroeder of St. John's Lutheran Church will officiate the service.
