Mary Lucretia Kerestman
June 1, 1939 ~ December 26, 2019
Mary Lucretia Kerestman, age 80, of Geneva passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019 peacefully in her sleep at home after Christmas visits from her family. She was born June 1, 1939 in Painesville, OH to Carl and Dorothy (Storm) Palo. She married the love of her life, James Kerestman, on Aug 6, 1960. She is now reunited with him in Heaven.
Mary’s happiness in life came out of her love for her husband, Jimmy; her children and grandchildren, her church and her cats who were her comfort. She was proud of becoming an RN while raising 7 children. In retirement, she volunteered in numerous church activities and organizations and was proud of becoming “Volunteer of the Year”.
She was generous to family and charity and anyone in need. She was so proud of passing on her Hungarian cooking expertise to her children and grandchildren. She was a Great Cook! She loved books, movies and jewelry and thought of herself as an expert Gemologist.
Her final message to her family was a letter in her diary from November that read “Remember to love each other, you are family…there is a strong tie. You were made with love now cherish it! God bless you all. I love you. Mom, Mary L. Palo Kerestman.”
She leaves behind her children, Katherine Kerestman, Vicki Kerestman, Lisa (Robert) Persinger, Jamie D. Kerestman, Dori Wright, Chris Kerestman; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Kerestman; son, Joseph Kerestman; her parents; and brother, Jimmy Palo.
