Mary Louise Weichel passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on January 20, 2016. Mary Lou had resided at the home of her great niece Kim (Scot) Atwood in rural Ashland, Illinois for the last 8 months. She had previously been a life-long resident of Cleveland, Ohio area. Mrs. Weichel was born June 23, 1916 in Unionville, Ohio the daughter of Charles and Mary Chapman Greenman. She was the great niece of John Chapman also known as Johnny Appleseed. Mary Lou married Dr. Henry W. Weichel, in 1942 and assisted her husband as a registered nurse in his Cleveland practice. He preceded her in death in 1969 and she continued as a full-time RN until the age of 85. Mary Lou was an avid world traveler, visiting many countries and going to Europe 10 times. She was a longtime member of both the Eastern Star and Madison County Historical Society. She loved to dance, published several cookbooks and was particularly known for her generosity and love of helping others. She was especially grateful to all those who have shown her kindness and given care to her particularly in her later years. Mary Lou is survived by nephews Lloyd (Barbara) Rawson of Winston-Salem, NC, Richard (Judy) Rawson of Warren, PA and Gerald (Heidi) Greenman of Trumbull Twp, OH and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude Rawson, her brother Charles Greenman, and a niece, Debra Greenman. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Behm Family Funeral Home at 175 South Broadway, Geneva, OH 44041. Family and friends will be received from 12-1 p.m. with the service immediately following. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva, OH. Pastor Bryan Manary will officiate the service.   2. Your aunt and uncle delivered me at birth and kept in touch with me my entire life. As I was getting ready to address Christmas cards I Google her and just came across the notice she had passed sorry I was not there. She was special to me and my family. Peace.
