Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Jo (Calhoun) Norcini, 58, of Perry will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2009 at St. Cyprian Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road, Perry. Mrs. Norcini died September 23, 2009, at her home, surrounded by her family, after a long battle, which included participation in many clinical trials for new drugs to help in the treatment and prevention of Alzheimer?s disease. Born April 10, 1951, in Painesville, She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Mary Jo was a graduate of Harvey High School and Mercyhurst College. She graduated with a degree in Education and her teaching certificate. With over 15 years of experience as a teacher at the former St. Mary School in Painesville, Mrs. Norcini was able to influence the lives of adults and children as she encouraged her students to reach their full potential, whatever that might be. She will be remembered as a beloved teacher and mentor to many. Survivors are her husband of 36 years, Richard Norcini of Perry; daughters, Carrie (Jim) Tenney of Perry, Amy Norcini of Perry, Kelly Norcini of Saybrook and Krista (Kevin ) Giel of Perry; Granddaughter, Allie Jo Tenney; Brothers, Bill (Barb) Calhoun of Peoria, IL, Joe (Janice) Calhoun of Houston, TX; Sister, Kathy (Tom) Spence of Concord; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Freda and Joe Calhoun and niece Cathleen Calhoun. Friends will be received 2-4:00 & 6-8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 27, 2009 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. Final resting place will be Perry Cemetery, Perry, Ohio. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 East 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119.
