Mary "Boe" Doerr
May 17, 1940 ~ December 9, 2013
Mary "Boe" Doerr, age 73, of Thompson Township, passed away at home on Monday, December 9, 2013, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Her loving family was at her side. She was born in Oakland, MD on May 17, 1940 to Edward Sollars and Helen (McNemar) and married Carl Doerr on August 27, 1960 in Oakland, MD.
Mary was an active supporter of Ledgemont sports as a member of the Booster Club and SOACC. She was a contract driver for Ledgemont Schools, caring for many children through the years. Mary was most proud of her family. She loved when her family would get together for holidays or dinners. Mary dearly loved her two grandsons, Zach and Jacob, never missing any of their sporting or school events. "Nana" was how her grandsons knew her. "Nana" would move heaven and earth for her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, sitting in the hot tub and making memories with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carl; daughter, Carla (Mickey) McGee; son, Tim (Paula) Doerr; and grandchildren, Zachary and Jacob Doerr, all of Thompson Township, Anthony (Karen) McGee of Pittsburgh, PA, Brian McGee of Houston, TX; sister, Patricia Gordy of Crete, IL; brothers-in-law, Ron (Deb) Doerr, John (Nancy) Doerr; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Bee) Deckman, Snookie (Joe) Friend, all of Accident, MD, and Linda Dovel, of Roanoke, VA; dear friend, April Davidson and many loved nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edward Sollars and brother-in-law, Ray Gordy.
Friends will be received Sunday December 15, 2013 from 3-6 p.m. at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057. The service will be Monday December 16th, 11 a.m. at Thompson United Methodist Church, 6758 Madison Road, Thompson, OH 44086 with Pastor Tom Gruver officiating. Graveside services will be announced at a later date.
