Mary Anne C. Revelt
November 15, 2011
Mary Anne C. Revelt, 82, passed away November 15, 2011, in Geneva, Ohio. Mary Anne was "Born Under a Wandering Star." She grew up in Wickliffe, Ohio and, after marrying her high school sweetheart, Jean J. Revelt, also of Wickliffe, embarked on a lifetime of travel and adventure, taking them and their seven children from Cleveland, to Michigan, to Wisconsin, and then back to Cleveland before a life enriching move to France, where they lived for six years. Mary Anne and Jean later returned to Cleveland Heights, and eventually Mary Anne retired to Bonita Springs, Florida. During her retirement, Mary Anne's travel adventures continued as she visited her children in many parts of the United States and Europe. Mary Anne had a big heart for the less fortunate, and as an accomplished seamstress she used her skills to make clothing for the disadvantaged children of St. Leo's Parrish in Bonita Springs. In recent years she lived with her loving daughter, Patricia Debevc, her husband Andrej and son, Leo, in Geneva, Ohio, where she continued her volunteer sewing, making quilts for the young patients of Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. Mary Anne will be missed by Patricia, Andrej, and Leo, as well as her six other children, Mary Elizabeth of Bonita Springs, FL, Teresa of Nashville, IN, Cynthia of Independence, OH, Carol of Salt Lake City, UT, Jean Marie of Ann Arbor, MI, and John of Dunlap, IL, and their spouses and children. She will also be missed by her brother, Leo, and his wife of Fort Myers, FL, and her sister, Carol, of Chapel Hill, NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband-in-Faith of 62 years, Jean J. Revelt.
A private family service will be held in Bonita Spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the America Reads program.
Mom, you've painted your wagon for a new adventure, but heavens ISN'T good-bye forever, it was just time for you to go. As our mother you held our hands for a while; you will hold our hearts forever. We love you!
