Martha Jane Virant has gained her wings and is now with the Lord.
Martha, age 84 of Harpersfield, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Rae-Ann Geneva Skilled Nursing & Rehab.
Martha was born January 6, 1939 in Thompson, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Bergman) Holy. She married Charles “Sonny” Virant on November 19, 1960 in Harpersfield.
Martha was a homemaker, and along with her late husband, Charlie, helped work and run the family farm, and later the winery and table business, Virant Family Winery. She enjoyed word search, and she loved talking to her friends on the phone. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly (Marty) Deutsch, and Frank Sr (Holly) Virant; grandchildren, Amanda Dawes, Charlie (Jill) Deutsch, Frank Jr (Brittany) Virant, Joseph Virant and Jarrod (Dalaney Mote) Virant; great-grandchildren, Mason Dawes, Max Dawes, Bentley Deutsch, Henry Deutsch, Joseph Jr Virant, and Jack Virant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; parents; daughter, Lori Virant.

My husband RJ and I are so saddened to hear of Martha’s passing. We met her and Papa almost 30 years ago when we happened into the winery one afternoon while we were on vacation. They were the only ones there and we all had a wonderful time talking and laughing. We have introduced many friends to Virant over these 30 years and Martha and Papa are definitely missed.
So sudden you leave us, you will be missed

So sorry to hear she’s gone. Was a nice person. We enjoyed going to the winery and their good food. I liked chatting with her while she sat by the door and teasing her about guarding the door. Lol
