“Together Forever”

Marlene (Swiger) Quickle, 86, of Madison, Ohio made her journey home on Wednesday, December 18th, at her home after an extended illness, her family by her side.

Marlene was born on February 28th, 1938 in Wallace, WVa, the daughter of the late Stanley E. and Geneva Rebecca (Crislip) Swiger.

Marlene was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Leon J. Quickle, whom she married on March 29th, 1958 in Clarksburg, WVa. They are now Together Forever.

After marriage Marlene and Leon moved to Ohio and in 1961 purchased what would become their home in South Madison where they would spend the rest of their lives and raise their family.

Marlene never worked outside the home as her “job” was a full time wife and mother. Family meant everything to her and she, like our father, showed us all what a fighting spirit, devotion and unconditional love truly was. She continued to take care of everyone until she just couldn’t anymore. Her favorite hobbies were sewing, quilting, crocheting, gardening, canning what was grown, and mowing the grass.

Mrs. Quickle is survived by one son, Joe Paul (Joan) Quickle; and three daughters, Becky Quickle, LaVonne (Brian) Wolfe, and Neva Dawn Quickle. She is also survived by two grand-daughters, Brianna Wolfe and Rachel Wolfe, along with a grandson, Chris Latta, and grand-daughter Jessica Dunlap. Mrs. Quickle also has five great grandchildren, Alex Latta, Caleb Dunlap, Austin Latta, Kate Dunlap, and Madelyn Dunlap.

In addition to her husband and parents, Marlene was also preceded in death by her sister Donna J. Hardman of Wallace, WVa and her brother Lonnie L. Swiger of Chantilly, Va.
