Mark J. Cook, 90, of Madison, passed away peacefully, Monday January 12, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born, March 9, 1924, in Turlock, California the son of the late James S. and Ethel Marie Cook. Mark served his country during WWII from 1943-1946 in the United States Navy. While serving his country he earned the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal (4 stars), American Area Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation medal (2 Stars) and World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Cook graduated from University of Southern Mississippi in 1951, University of Tennessee in 1953, and Post Graduated Center for Mental Health in New York City, in 1970. He was employed in Private practice as a Psychotherapist/Social Worker for 40 years. Mark married the love of his life Bess L. Bazor in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in 1950. He is survived by his wife, Bess; his children, Robert Cook, Steven Cook, Susan Deming (Barry), Mary Kuzy (David); grandchildren, Carrie Cook, Mark Cook, Steven Kuzy, Mary Deming, Brian Deming, and Sarah Kuzy; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1:30 PM at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, with Rev. Joe Tyrpak, of the Tri-County Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Perry Cemetery, on Center Rd. in Perry Township. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 12:00 (Noon) until 1:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Haven of Rest Visual Support Center in Akron, Ohio, Salvation Army, or a charity of your choice.
