Mark Brace, age 40 of Harpersfield, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 at home with family by his side, after a courageous battle with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer. He was born December 5, 1980 in Madison, the son of Robert and Denise (Anderson) Brace. Mark was a 1999 graduate of Geneva High School and went on to study business and Japanese at Mount Union University. A member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, he played linebacker for the Purple Raiders, winning 3 National Championships. After graduating from Mount Union in 2003, he took a position in sales at Konica Minolta. From there he went on to sales positions at Thomson Reuters and most recently Parametric Technology Corporation. Mark was an active member of Geneva First United Methodist Church. He always enjoyed a good party but more than anything he loved the time spent with his family. He was passionate about youth athletics and loved coaching his children in their sporting activities. He could often be found under the Friday night lights helping out on the sidelines. Mark had the ability to always make people feel good about themselves and often served as a motivational speaker for young people in Geneva. Marks large personality and passion for life was extraordinary and he lived every moment to the fullest. He is survived by his wife, Livia (Debevc) Brace; children, Cora, Max, and Veda; his parents, Robert and Denise; siblings, Teri (Brian) Melchert, Cathi (Bryan) Badik, Susan (Patrick) Pullen; parents-in-law, Mark and Kathleen (Korver) Debevc; sisters-in-law, Annah (John) Haeseler, Andrea Debevc; nieces and nephews, Victoria, Dustin and Dylan Melchert, Brandon and Connor Badik, Catherine, Elizabeth and Anne Pullen, John, Ella and Owen Haeseler; and many aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Meara Sue Brace; grandparents, Mark and Eunice Brace, W.L. and Dorothy Anderson and Bettie Anderson. Friends and Family will be received from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S. Broadway in Geneva. Guests are required to follow current pandemic guidelines, wear masks and practice social distancing. A Private Family Service at the Geneva First United Methodist Church will take place by invitation only at 1pm on Monday, February 22, 2021. Pastor Randy May will officiate the service. Marks Funeral Service will be Livestreamed through the Behm Funeral Home Facebook Page, facebook.com/BehmService for those unable to attend. Final Resting Place will be Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva. The family will be announcing a party to celebrate Mark’s life later this summer.   10. Mark use to come to all of the St. John games when my daughter was in 7-9 th grades. He was a very nice, polite young man! My sincerest sympathy to his parents and family! His wife and children have a loving angel in heaven!??

  13. Sad beyond words. My husband fought a battle with cancer and is currently in remission. When Mark was diagnosed I reached out to encourage him.   40. The first time I met Mark was at a CPR class for Little League coaches. After I did my turn correctly on the dummy he smacked my butt and said great job! With a big smile. I was like wow who is this guy. Through coaching I got to know who he was…..and what he was is simply the best. I’m blessed to have known him even for only a few years. He has affected me like not many have. ?

  44. Mark and I worked together many years on agreements between STERIS and PTC. It was a joy to know him. Over the years we developed a close friendship which I will always cherish. I miss him already. I'll never forget how kind he was to my young son a number of years ago when he invited him out to Concord to drive the grape harvester. My son has never forgotten either. I valued all our discussions about work, faith, life, family, diets… every moment was a joy. I grieve his loss but will never forget the man and friend he was to me.

  45. I worked with Mark many years while at PTC. Our interactions were around helping Mark's customers succeed with PTC software and professional services (my role). I always felt Mark stood out from many of his peers as a good-hearted, proactive, fair, honorable, humble yet very successful Account Manager. It was always a pleasure to work with him and I had a lot of respect for him as a PTC Account Manager and as a person. I am sincerely sorry that Mark left us far too soon.
