marjorie pocius

October 9, 1941 ~ July 14, 2023

Marjorie Fay Pocius, resident of Perry, passed away Friday morning, July 14, 2023, at her residence. She was 81 years of age. Marjorie was born October 9, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Paul and Hulda Honderich. She attended business college and worked as a secretary at the Eaton Corporation, where she met her husband, Robert Pocius. The pair married on June 22, 1963 and moved to Ohio shortly thereafter. There, they raised their three daughters and worked alongside one another in a family-owned outdoor power-equipment business, Twins Mower. In addition to being a devoted wife, Marjorie created an unshakable foundation of support for both her children and grandchildren alike. She left no sporting event, school concert, theatrical performance, or graduation unattended — no matter the weather. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, playing Pinochle, and spending time with her loved ones. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Hulda Honderich; and her brother, Paul Harvey Honderich. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Pocius; three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Wojtila (Michael) of Chardon, Cheryl Massey (Michael) of Middlefield, and Patricia (Dan) of Claridon; and her grandchildren (Timothy, Tori, Kelly, Robert, Chase, Courtney, Joseph, and Mitchell). Her memory is a blessing to many additional relatives and friends, as well as her German Shepherd, Jen. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, July 29, at St. Cyprian Catholic Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road in Perry. The family will receive guests for one hour prior to the service at the church from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups, PO Box 107, Burton, OH 44021 or Venmo @geaugamamadogsandpups The Behm Family Funeral Home of Madison is assisting the family at this time.
