Marilyn J. Adkins

Marilyn J. Adkins, age 83, of Geneva, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home. She was born on December 20, 1934, in Rome, Ohio, the daughter of Martha (Cornish) and Raymond Hart. Marilyn married Thurmond Bud Adkins, on October 21, 1995 in Geneva. Marilyn was a Cost Accountant for Reliance Electric, retired in 1997. For over 70 years she was an active member of the Geneva First United Methodist Church where she was a Stephen Minister and head of Prayer Chain. Forever devoted to her family she cherished the times spent with them. Marilyn's greatest joy was finding a deep connection with everyone she met. She enjoyed golfing and taking photographs of the ones she loved. She is survived by her husband, Thurmond Bud Adkins; daughter, Patricia (Richard Garrison) Monahan; son, Robert Monahan; grandchildren, Katie, Gale, Colleen and Richard; sisters, Janet Colucci, Joanne Vogelsang; brother, James (Pat) Hart. She is also survived by her step-children: Cheryl (Kevin) Garcia, Thurmond (Mary) Adkins III, Kimberly Reuhl, Tina (Timothy) Fuller, Tamara Adkins, and Theron (Tara) Adkins and many step-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Robert Monahan who passed away in 1962. Friends will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday March 2, 2018 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Geneva First United Methodist Church, 89 South Broadway in Geneva. Pastor Bruce Hitchcock from Geneva, UMC will be officiating.
