Marija M. Molan

Marija M. Molan, age 87, of Thompson, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at UH Geauga Medical Center. Marija was born on June 19, 1935 to Anton and Franciska Mirtic in Desecavas, Yugoslavia.
Marija was an excellent baker, and always made her treats from scratch. She was an avid gardener, which she was known for, (Mary’s Vegetables) and adored her flowers, and going shopping each Friday. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and the Food Channel. She was also a loved member of St. Patrick Church for over 55 years. Marija became a US Citizen on September 28, 1973, and she was extremely proud of her accomplishment. The holidays were always held at her house, as her family was everything to her. She had a deep love for her children and grandchildren, and always put them first.
Marija is survived by her children, Mary A. Molan, Christine H. Molan, Paul A. (Debora S.) Molan, Frank J. Molan, Anthony C. (Stefanie) Molan; grandchildren, Paul “PJ”, Amber (Tony), Jack; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, and one more on the way. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents, Anton and Franciska Mirtic; siblings, Alojzij Mirtic, Anton Mirtic, and Emilija Mirtic.
Friends will be received on Thursday, July 21st, 2022 from 4-8pm at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Str., Madison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am, Friday, July 22nd, 2022 at St. Patrick Church, 16550 Rock Creek Rd., Thompson. Final resting place will be at St. Patrick Cemetery.

Molan, Grace lit a candle
My condolences to the family! Mary was a dear friend who shared items from her garden and her kitchen. I especially enjoyed her potica that reminded me of the one my mother would bake. She will truly be missed!
