Marie V. Freeman

Marie V. Freeman, age 88, of Madison, OH, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Hospice of the Western Reserve Cleveland in Cleveland. She was born October 3, 1924 in Parkman, OH to Marya (Heletik) and Konstantin Votchko. She married Roger Freeman on October 5, 1966 in Erie, PA.
Marie was a bookkeeper at Gail G. Grants in Painesville. She was a devoted wife and mother, especially to her special needs child. She volunteered for Deepwood Center and their Special Olympics. Marie was also a past president of LCARC. She was an excellent baker, sewer and a great homemaker. At one time she was a 4-H Advisor, and received many blue ribbons in the fair for wedding cakes.
She is survived by her husband, Roger; daughters, Barbara (Philip) Shemkunas of Trumbull Township, Lisa Freeman of Madison; step-children, Suzanne Morley, Michael Freeman, Cathy Snyder, Patti Drotar; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Rose Marie "Cookie" Scott; brother, Michael Votchko; sisters, Anne Gross and Katherine Votchko.
Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 26th at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3050 McMackin Road, Madison, OH. Rev. Howard Davis will be officiating.
Final Resting Place will be at Madison Memorial Cemetery in Madison.
