Margaret Peggy Adams
November 24, 1951 ~ June 27, 2014
Margaret "Peggy" Adams, age 62 of Geneva, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 surrounded by her family at the Cleveland Clinic. She fought a long and courageous battle against multiple sclerosis with grace and dignity, and always with a smile on her face.
Born November 24, 1951 in Sleepy Eye, MN, Peggy was the daughter of Lillian & Clayton Finstad. She was a 1969 graduate of Geneva High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Education at Kent State University in 1973. Peggy taught third grade at Cork Elementary School until she retired in 1990 and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her students.
She was the former president of the Geneva Area Teacher Association and a member of the Geneva-on-the-Lake Kiwanis. Peggy loved playing cards, engaging in lively political discussions, listening to the Beatles, and spending time with her family.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Chris) Brown of Geneva; grandchildren, Aiden & Elise Brown; longtime companion, Tony Zala of Geneva; mother, Lillian Finstad of Geneva; sisters, Beth (Colin) Carney of Geneva, Kathi (Paul) Marak of CA, Debra (Bryan) Childers of AZ, Jo (Mike) Bohn of FL, Helen (Leigh) Doroba of Ashtabula; brother, Kevin (Bonnie) Finstad of TX and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
Peggy was loved and respected by many for her great sense of humor, her compassion for others, and her wealth of wisdom. The joy and happiness that she brought into the world will be missed but never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held 5:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 South Broadway, Geneva, OH 44041 followed by a celebration of life reception at VFW Post 6846, 76 Depot Street, Geneva, OH 44041.
