Margaret "Peg" Wickert

Margaret “Peg” Wickert, 88, died Friday, December 27, 2024. Born on September 23, 1936, in Berea, Ohio. She graduated from Madison High School in 1954. She attended Saint Luke’s School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse in 1957. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Professional Arts from Saint Joseph’s College in 1991. Peg married Forrest “Pudge” Wickert on January 2, 1960.
She held many jobs in the nursing field, but her favorite was Madison School District’s School Nurse, for 28 years. She was also the organist for Saint Anne’s in the Fields. Peg is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Katherine (Jefferies) Shane; her siblings George Shane and MaryEllen (Shane) Bassett; and her husband Forrest “Pudge” Wickert.
She is survived by her daughters, Marie (Chris) deHaas; Jennifer (Steve) Colvard; grandchildren, Eric (Danielle) Stevenson; Benjamin Stevenson; Alexander Stevenson; Melissa Gee; great grandchildren, Oliver; Addilyn; and Liam; and step-grandchildren Brad Colvard; Brennan Colvard. A visitation will be held Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Behm Funeral Home, Madison, from 4pm-7pm. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am January 10, 2025, at St. Anne in the Fields Anglican Church. Donations to St. Anne’s or a charity of your choice also welcomed.
Peg was also known by Gran to many in the community, she will be greatly missed by all those blessed to know her.
