Marcia "Bunny" Ryder, age 74, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 after an extended illness. Her devoted husband of 55 years and daughter were at her bedside. She was born March 13, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio. Bunny was preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Dorothy Walter; grandson, Jesse Myers; and great-grandson, Aidan Ryder. She is survived by her husband, James Ryder; and two children, James E. Ryder of Geneva and Marcy L. (Michael) Brennan of Jefferson; siblings, Fred (Bunny), Walter of Norwalk, Carolyn Claypool of Geneva, and James Walter of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Courtney (Ben) Spies, Nicholas Ryder, Lauren Maikut, Michael D. (Gina) Brennan, and Katerina Brennan; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Liam, Finnley, Levi, Shea, Isabella; and many nephews and nieces. Bunny's family was her top priority and she was happiest at family reunions and parties. She was especially fond of being Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a graduate of Austinburg High School and proud to be in the last graduating class of that school. Bunny and her husband owned and operated the Austinburg Roller Rink from 1974-1980. She was a multiple past-President of OAPSE Local #307 and worked as a bus driver for 26 years in the Geneva Area City Schools. She was an avid golfer and camper. Bunny attended Assumption Church and spent many hours helping produce grape pies for the Grape Jamboree. Calling hours will be observed on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 19th at Assumption Catholic Church, 594 W. Main Street, Geneva. Final Resting Place will be Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, OH 44004-2930 or the Community Christmas Card of UH Geneva Medical Center, 870 W.   2. A few years ago my daughter Kelly, her friend Kenna and I volunteered for a couple of hours (probably 2-3) to help make grape pies and Bunny taught us how to “flute” the edges. Thanks to her tips, every pie I've baked has come out wonderful! O merciful Savior send thy angels to conduct thy departed servant to a place of refreshment, light and peace.
