Louis Anthony Popp, 88, of Perry, passed away unexpectedly at Tri-Point Medical Center, on Thursday, September 8, 2016. He was born April 21, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Koteles) Popp Schaeffer and had remained a lifelong area resident. Lou married the love of his life Virginia Cole in Thompson, Ohio on June 24, 1950. Louis was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II. Louis worked Quality Control at Rayon. For many years he was a Pipe Fitter at GE. He enjoyed construction, building things and "jerry rigging" them to work. He was truly a "jack" of all trades and could do anything. He was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame He was loved by many; a loss to all. He is survived by his daughters, Judith A Popp and Patricia (Mark) Quayle; grandchildren, Shannon (Chris) Wilson, Leslie A. Turner, Christy D. Starkweather, Tanya (Todd) Glawitsch, Mark Quayle II, and Katelyn Quayle; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Dan (Pehgee) Schaeffer; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Louis was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Virginia "Ginny"; brother, William Popp; sister, Dana Benson; grandsons, Raymond, William, and Christopher; and his parents. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio 44057. Final resting place will be next to his wife at Perry Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 11:00 12:00 P.M. until the time of service at noon..
