Lonnie Jerry Childress, Age 70, of Leroy Township, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009 TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township, OH. Born May 22, 1939 in Pruden, Tennessee to Shirley (Gibson) & John Childress and married Shirley Naylor in Marion, Ohio on 6/2/1957. Formerly owned and operated Mentor Machine. Also worked for Swagelok Co. Member of Thompson United Methodist Church. Enjoyed trains, model trains, wood working and could fix almost anything. Loved singing with his brothers & sisters and especially loved spending time with his family & friends. He is survived by Wife: Shirley Childress of Leroy Township; Sons, John (Vonda) Childress of Geneva; Timothy (Christina) Childress of Madison, Paul (Dixie) Childress of Geneva; Daughters, Lora Danae (Tommy) Simril of Geneva, Morgan Childress of Thompson, Marissah Childress of Painesville, Michaela Childress of Thompson; 6 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Ina Jaycox of Marion, Ohio & Clara Childress of Marion, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his Parents, 4 Brothers; 4 Sisters; Granddaughter, Maria Childress Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Thompson United Methodist Church, 6758 Madison Rd., Thompson, Ohio with Rev. Harley Wheeler officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
