Lois M. Spiesman

Lois M. Spiesman, age 89, of Madison, passed away peacefully in her home Wednesday, October 9, 2019. She was born on November 29, 1929 in Painesville to Marie (Pike) and Lawrence Chaffee. On November 24, 1956, Lois married Alvin Spiesman, Sr. Growing up in Madison Township, her father raced horses and owned a milk cartage business, where she gained a love of animals. Most of all, Lois loved her family. She was a homemaker, and a wonderful mother to her two children. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Zupan of Madison; son, Alvin Spiesman, Jr. of Madison; grandchildren, Jason M. Zupan and Cassandra N. Zupan; and sister, Dorothy Johnson. Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Sr. in 2004; her parents; her brother, William Chaffee; her brother-in-law, Harry Johnson; her nephew, Donald Johnson; and her sister-in-law, Peggy (Snyder) Chaffee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Rd, Suite 270, Valley View, OH 44125. The family would like to send a heartfelt “Thank you” to the hospice team who cared for Lois in her last days.
