Services for Leon J. Quickle, 73, of Madison will be 11:00 am, Friday, September 11, 2009, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio with Rev. Jerry Kalb, of Painesville United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends will be received 5-8:00 pm, Thursday, September 10, 2009 and 10-11:00 am, Friday, September 11, 2009 at the funeral home. Final resting place will be Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson, Ohio.
Mr. Quickle passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at his home surrounded by his wife and children.
Born November 22, 1935 in Birch River, W.Va., he had lived in Madison for the past 48 years.
Mr. Quickle served in the Army, and was stationed in Germany in 1959-1960. He worked at the Rayon for 13 years, and retired in 2000 from Lubrizol in Painesville after 32 years.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Marlene Quickle, whom he married on March 29, 1958 in Clarksburg, W.Va.; 1 son, Joe P. (Joann) Quickle of Union City, Pa.; 3 daughters, Becky Quickle of Chardon, LaVonne (Brian) Wolfe of Concord, & Neva Dawn Quickle of Chardon; 2 granddaughters, Brianna & Rachel of Concord; 1 step-granddaughter, Jessica Latta of Union City, Pa.; 1 step-grandson, Chris Latta of Meadville, Pa.; 2 step-great-grandsons, Alex & Austin of Union City, Pa.; 1 brother, Roland Quickle of Jefferson; 2 sisters, Bernadine Manley of Madison & Josephine (Jim) Samples of Salem, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie M. & Sylvia Quickle; 2 brothers, Eugene and Burnell and 1 sister, Rosettia Dennis.
