Leena Rae Algier
April 15, 2019 ~ June 28, 2022
Leena Rae Algier, 3, of Perry, Ohio passed away June 28th, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born April 15th, 2019 in Cleveland.
Leena was placed into the home of Paul and Peggy Algier in May 2019, which soon would become her forever home. She was born with herpes encephalitis, complications of the disease affected her through her entire life. Eventually contributing to her losing her life. The Algier family was truly blessed to adopt Leena on March 25, 2021 and they became her forever family.
Leena was a fighter in every sense of the word. Any diagnosis or obstacle that came her way she fought hard to beat. With the help of her family and doctors she defied all the odds. Even though she was only here for 3 years she was able to touch and change the lives of so many people, especially her family.
Her beautiful smile and infectious belly laugh could brighten anyone's day. Snuggles were always a favorite of hers, especially at night with mom and dad. She obtained milestones we never thought she would - like going to preschool and riding the bus - even if only for 2 weeks. People were always drawn to her, often complimenting her on how precious she was.
Leena is survived by her parents, Paul and Peggy; siblings, Elliott, Mason, Aubrey, and Matthew; grandparents, Don and Sandy Elliott - Jefferson, Ohio, Charlie and Janet Algier - Mentor, Ohio; uncles, Charlie (Rachel) Algier - Metuchen NJ, Thomas Algier -Columbus, Ohio; aunts, Amy (Steve) Seifert - Madison, Ohio, Ellen Algier - Mentor, Ohio, Annie (Sean) Marenkovic - Boardman, Ohio; cousins, Charlie and Sarah Algier -Metuchen NJ, Brayden and Bryce Seifert - Madison, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Alex Algier and Aunt Becky Elliott.
Friends will be received from 3 – 7PM, on Tuesday, July 5th, 2022 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., in Madison. A Funeral Service will begin at 7pm at the funeral home. Private Family Graveside service will be held at a later date. Final interment will be at Madison Memorial

I love my granddaughter greatly and hope she is being held tightly by the lord and rests in peace. I wish Peg and Paul all the best they have done so much for both my grandchildren and I have much love for them and their family because of all the things they have done and the love they have given bringing them in as their own. I always say the day they took them in our family became bigger. Love and prayers for my granddaughter and the family we gained through her and her brother Matthew and I hope her Angel wings fit her perfectly in heaven.
