Lawrence “Rocky” Pinkert, age 59 of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born January 20, 1962 in Cooperstown, ND, he was the son of John and Elizabeth (Haen) Pinkert. He married Dana Thompson in Green Bay, Wisconsin on October 21, 1983.
Rocky proudly served our country, and he retired as a Navy Seabee in 1996. He enjoyed cooking and creative crafting. He wore many hats including Son, Brother, Uncle Rocky, Dad, Grandpa, Husband, and Papa. Most of all, Rocky enjoyed the time spent talking with his boys and his grandchildren.
Rocky is survived by his loving wife, Dana; sons, Blase (Beth), Seth (Corina), and Gavin (Alexia Russel) Pinkert; grandchildren, Kyrie, Ruby, River, Anthony, and David; mother, Elizabeth Pinkert; brothers, Mark (Cheryl), Pete (Linda) and Shawn Pinkert; sister, Kathy (Mark Bertram) Pinkert. He was preceded in death by his father, John; and brother, Jeff.
Friends and family will be received from 5:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at New Day Christian Church, 6835 North Ridge Road in Madison. Pastor Michael Rice will officiate the service. The family suggests contributions to be made in Rocky’s name to the Seabee Historical Foundation www.seabeehf.org or the American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Avenue, 44106-2204.

I remember when Rocky shared his military experience with our American Heritage Girls Troop several years back. What an honorable, kind man! Also Rocky was the very first person that Mike met with prior to coming to the church. We have high respect for him.
