Lawrence A. Rought, age 86, of Perry, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Tri Point Medical Center. He was born May 26,1935 in Painesville, the son of Artie Alfred and Audrey May (Turner) Rought. He married Carol Lenore (Okeson) in Perry on August 5, 1972. Lawrence was a 1954 graduate of Perry High School. He was also a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1958 to 1960. Lawrence owned and operated Rought's Poultry Farm with his brother, Bob. He was a past president of the Lake County Farm Bureau and served on the board for the Western Reserve Co-Op. He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Susan Collins, Douglas (Jeannine) Rought, Diane (John) Carver, Sandra (William) Hitchcock; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Wayne; and sister, Bernice Jackson; grandchildren, Ricky Rought and Mitchell Tetter. Friends will be received 5-8 pm Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison with a Funeral Service will take place at 11 am on Friday, May, 20, 2022 at the funeral home. Final Resting Place will be Perry Cemetery.   3. Carol and Family, I remember Larry from Farm Bureau and Landmark Boards. Larry was a good friend to us. We’re going to miss him every day.

  4. Larry was a real kind hearted man that we so much enjoyed talking with while he visited his daughter Sue in Florida for the winter months. With so much in common, we had delightful conversations and much laughter as he scooted to our backyard away from the girls! We will definitely miss him so much…God speed Larry…. see ya around te bend.

  5. Larry and i were adjacent neighbor on Shepard Road in Perry.. We were both 1994 graduates of Perry High School.I thought of Larry as a brother. He was great young man growing up. Our lives parted after high school. I’m sure he was a great man, father and husband. God bless him and his family.
