LaMar McClure
August 9, 1929 ~ April 24, 2016
LaMar McClure, age 86, of Thompson, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at home. He was born August 9, 1929 in Brundidge, Alabama to Ossie (Siler) and Robert Walter McClure. He married Kathryn Doherty in Cleveland on July 17, 1976.
Growing up in Alabama, LaMar was a 1948 graduate of Bowen High School. He served in the US AirForce and taught riflery and marksmanship. With his wife, Kathy, he owned and operated the LaMar Printing Company. As an active member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Thompson, he served as president of Council and was affectionately known as the "Donut Man". Currently, he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cleveland where he was involved with the homeless ministry. Everyone enjoyed LaMar's welcoming smile as a Wal-Mart greeter in Middlefield and as a part-time school bus driver in the Ledgemont School District.
He is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife, Kathy; sons, LaMar Jr. (Robbie), Mark, Maurice, Myron (Laverta), and Ryan (Elizabeth Anne) McClure; daughters, Felicia Esiobu, Karen Franklin, Shervon (John) Simpson, MarLa McClure, and Shannon (Jeremy) McClure; a legacy of adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Darcel; brothers, Walter and Billy; and sisters, Annie Grace and Annie Jewel.
Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church, 8091 Plank Road, Thompson, Ohio. Pastor Donald Coulter and Pastor Jerry Mitchell will officiate the service. Final resting place will be Maple Grove Cemetery, Thompson, Ohio.

Thoughts and prayers to your family. I remember Mr. McClure very fondly as my elementary school bus driver. I still talk about him today. He was always smiling and such a kind man.

Mac was such a kind and gentle soul. He will truly be missed! Remember that God remains close to the broken hearted.
