Kenneth Wessollek "Bear", 72, longtime resident of Madison, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023. Born on May 13th, 1950, he was the son of Mary (Yelenic) and Ernest Wessollek.
A proud Vietnam Veteran who served with the Army, 1st Cavalry Division; he enjoyed gardening, fishing and the outdoors. He retired from GE Willoughby Quartz Plant and loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his beloved children.
Ken is survived by his sister, Anna (Adolph) Sammett; brother, Ernest Wessollek Jr; and children, Joseph (Rebekah) Wessollek, Christine (John) Strain, as well as his grandchildren Grady, Miles, Reese, Mattheu, and Alexandra. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and beloved son Casey "Lee" Wessollek.
Family and friends will be welcomed at the Behm Family Funeral Home 26 River Street in Madison from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 with a service immediately following at 6 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Madison Village at 12pm on Wednesday, March 29th, 2023 where Military Honors will be observed. I worked with him at the Perry plant. I have many good memories of him. He was a GOOD MAN!
We are so sorry for your loss, he was always so very nice when we saw him. When the weather was good you would always catch him out walking through our neighborhood and just as cheerful as he always was, smiling all the time. Prayers for your family.
