Kathy Avant, age 70, of Madison, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021, at her home. She was born June 3, 1950 in Cotulla, TX, the daughter of Alvin and Margaret (Marley) Avant.
Kathryn worked for the Perry Nuclear Plant as a Document Control Clerk for 20 years. She loved to crochet and read books and spend time in her garden tending to her flowers.
She is survived by her companion, Virginia Efaw.
Private Family Graveside Service will be observed at Madison Memorial Cemetery on Arcola Road in Madison.

Kathryn Rose Avant, my Mother named me after you in deference of her love and devotion to her little sister. I could never compare to your beauty both inside and out. You were the antithesis of a “candle in the wind”, shinning brightly. You were loved by so many whom were unable to be there for your journey from this world but you will not be forgotten. My heart goes out to those you’ve left behind, your son Randy Lee Karlovec and wife Susan, daughter Kristy Leigh Karlovec. Grandchildren Alexandra Karlovec, Randy Lee Zachary Karlovec, Shyanne Blankenship, Savannah Blankenship and Dakota Blankenship and great grandson Hayden Brewster. You will also be remembered by your sister June Hooper, brothers Darwin Avant and wife Betty, Michael Avant and wife Wilma as well as many aunts, nephews and nieces.
