June Thompson, age 83, of Geneva, passed away Thursday, November 2. 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 14, 1940 in Geneva, Ohio, to Joan (Hallam) and Clement Rockhill. She married Earsel Thompson on July 22, 1963 in Painesville. June worked at a young age at various restaurants in the town and harvested grapes until she married. After raising her children, she returned to the work force. Where she cared for the elderly and mentally disabled. Soon after, she retired to care for her grandchildren, which was one of her greatest joys. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and going to the numerous activities they all were involved in. She loved playing cards, gambling, board games, casinos, shopping and going out to eat. She had a strong love for animals and would adopt and care for any stray that would have the good fortune to come her way, including humans. She is survived by her children, Joanne (David) McConnell, Judy Taylor, Bill (Virginia Miller) Thompson, Janie (Duane) Burdick; grandchildren, Nicole (Nicholas), Kristen (Bryce), Jennifer, Amanda (Collin), Eric, Jacob, Lauren, Ella and Jill; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Mackenzie, Kinsley, Dylan and Tucker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earsel; parents; and brother, Richard Bailey. June will be sadly missed by her family and will always be remembered for her kindness, amazing sense of humor and above all, the incredible care and never ending love for her family. Friends will be received 4 – 6pm, Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva.
