Julia Pelton passed away on May 28, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on September 18, 1955 to Floyd and Stella Black in Chicago, Illinois.
Julia was a loving and supportive mother and wife, and always managed to see the good in everyone who crossed her path. She enriched the lives of those she got to meet. She was also an active member of Immaculate Conception Church. She worked as a chemist for 40 years during her working career.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Mark; sons, Mark (Racheal) Pelton and Emerson Pelton; grandchildren, Lane and Kase; uncle, Richard (Kathy) Black; and many loved family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Arlane Dain, Ron Black, Dewey Black and Baby Black.
Friends will be received 5-7 pm on June 5, 2026 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Funeral Service will take place at 11 am on June 6th at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Rd in Madison. Online obituary may be found at www.behmfuneral.com

Julie had a welcoming smile each day I saw her at Ricerca. She was an expert at what she did in the lab and patiently explained what the test results really meant for my samples. Her cheerfulness and positive attitude lifted my day.
I’m so sorry to read of Julie’s passing. I enjoyed working with her while at Ricerca. She always had a smile. My condolences to Julie’s family. I know she will be greatly missed.
