Julia A. Solnick
April 19, 1921 ~ January 10, 2010
Julia Ann Solnick (nee Swontek) joined our Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 10, 2010 after a long illness. Julia was born April 19, 1921, to John & Rose Swontek of Middlefield, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Stanley and her beloved husband of 30 years, George G. Solnick. Julia is survived by Georgia Drown (Madison, OH), Rita Beauregard (Sarasota, FL), Major Robert Solnick, USMC retired (Slidell, LA) and Susan Solnick-Asp (Cedarburg, WI), 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren & 2 great-great- grandchildren.
Julia was a devout Catholic and a life-long member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Orwell, Ohio. She worked at Kennametal in Orwell, Ohio for many years and is remembered best for her faith, her strength, her love of life, her vibrant personality and her sense of style and humor. Her home (of which there were many) was her castle and her family her most treasured jewel. Julia?s life was ruled by her passion for movement?whether it be a change of residence, or mastering new steps on a dance floor?she embraced freedom in mind, body and spirit wholeheartedly. She was remarkably intelligent, a gifted dancer, and her home was often filled with laughter and love, even through difficult times. Julia had an amazing gift in being able to bring out the best in people. Though she often loved being the light and life of a party, she was also very thoughtful and introspective. Strangers were often welcome at her table and she had a heart for those who suffered. She was a faithful servant to her fellow man and would often take up the burdens of others. Julia had a sensitive and generous spirit and she will truly be missed.
Julia?s Life Celebration will be held in June. Friends and family are encouraged to contact Susan Solnick-Asp (262-377-3836) or email solnickasp@aol.com for further information. Memorials encouraged to be sent to Cardinal Woods Activity Department, 6831 East Chapel Road, Madison, OH 44057.
